Hammond, La. » The youth of the Emmanuel church, along with church members and guests from the surrounding community, took part in an electrifying Youth Week of Prayer. The nightly meetings were held from Sunday, March 13 through Friday, March 18, with a grand climax during the Sabbath worship service on March 19. The nightly prayer meetings were well attended, with an average attendance of more than 71 people each night, and on the most well attended night, 92 people were present. The youth of Emmanuel were well represented at each prayer meeting, and took an active part in praise and worship, welcoming the guests, and giving special music presentations.

The Word was delivered in a powerful fashion by Christopher Manuel, pastor, as he built the momentum for increased attendance by offering eye-catching handouts highlighting his nightly presentations. He captivated his audience with such topics as “I.D. Please,” ”Breaking the Cycle,” “Is It Safe in Here?” and “Biggie Size My Order.”

As the Youth Week of Prayer drew to a close, nine people took their stand and enrolled in Bible study in preparation for baptism. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matt. 24:14).
