Nacogdoches » “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know,” (Jer. 33:3). This great promise from our loving God has been evident in the formation of the Pineywoods Adventist Christian School (PACS) in beautiful East Texas!

The vision began a little over a year ago when Brad Cauley, senior pastor of the Lufkin/Nacogdoches church district, together with his congregation, fell on their knees with fasting and prayer, seeking God’s guidance in starting a Seventh-day Adventist Christian School. At present, the closest Adventist school to the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area is over 90 minutes away. “Every day God is showing us in both gigantic and baby steps how to proceed. We already have two dedicated, experienced, energetic, and spiritual teachers. It’s amazing to see how God has put everything together. I can hardly contain my excitement to begin our first school year this August, 2011,” said Pastor Cauley. The kids and the parents are equally excited. Dale Schroeder, member of the school board and a parent of two elementary students, adds, “I want my kids to have the type of education and upbringing that I had. I’m a product of Seventh-day Adventist education and I strongly uphold that.” Cassie Schroeder, PACS treasurer, wants her Pre-K and second grader to have a safe environment and to be with other Adventist students.

PACS will meet in Nacogdoches, in the school facility adjacent to the Nacogdoches Seventh-day Adventist Church. The grades taught will be from Pre-K to eighth grade. Nacogdoches is two and a half hours north of Houston and one and a half hours south of Tyler. “Today, we are inviting any future parents who are planning to relocate to this beautiful, serene part of East Texas, to have the blessing of enrolling your children at PACS,” encouraged Pastor Cauley.
