Across two Oklahoma congregations, five people publicly committed their lives to Christ through baptism, one couple celebrated their wedding, and church members rejoiced as they witnessed God's faithfulness.

In Ketchum, Okla., Three people were baptized on Independence Day, marking a significant change in their lives.

Gabe Harper had expressed his desire to be baptized at teen camp, but his family was unable to attend. However, it did not stop him from his commitment. The very next weekend, he celebrated his baptism with family beside him at the Ketchum Seventh-day Adventist Church..

After being together for 15 years, Curt Wigelsworth and his fiancée, Betty, felt a deep spiritual awakening. Their baptism was an event filled with joy, tears, and the clear presence of the Holy Spirit.

The following weekend, that journey continued as the couple stood together again—this time to be married. Their wedding was simple, beautiful, and overflowing with gratitude for the God who had brought them this far.

Kris Knott, church pastor, both baptized them and officiated at the wedding. "It was a beautiful Sabbath and a beautiful wedding,” said Knott. “The Lord is working in their hearts in a big way."

Meanwhile, in Miami, Okla., another couple stepped forward in faith. Sherman and Becky Hamon were baptized, publicly declaring their commitment to Christ. Their story, like Curt and Betty's, reflects years of God's quiet work—shaping, healing, and preparing them for this moment.

Their baptism brought deep joy to the Miami Seventh-day Adventist Church family, who had been praying for them and walking alongside them.

Together, these baptisms and wedding were more than ceremonies—they were testimonies of God's faithfulness, the power of long-term love, and the beauty of surrender.

Two churches. Five baptisms. One wedding. One God moving in mighty ways.

The Oklahoma Conference celebrates with these families and prays for their continued growth, joy, and discipleship as they begin this new chapter together.
