Touching our kids for Jesus — Cover story
Why do we have Seventh-day Adventist schools? Why do we expend enormous resources of money, time, and energy? Don’t the public schools or other private schools offer quality education? Can’t we entrust that most valued gift from God—our beautiful children—to one of those schools?
The answer is really quite simple: Seventh-day Adventist Christian schools lead our children and youth into a relationship with Jesus Christ while also offering to each student solid Christian values and a quality educational preparation for life on this earth and the earth to come. Yes, and our Adventist schools also prepare fine Seventh-day Adventist church members to lead the church into God’s glorious future. From the textbooks to the curriculum to the songs sung to the memory work to the modeling of Seventh-day Adventist Christian teachers, everything within that school is bent toward changing young lives for Jesus. With all of us—home, school, and church—working together, surely God will bless our efforts and save our kids for eternity! My sincere hope for every teacher and student in our union is expressed in the following dialog. Allow me to share with you the thoughts I’ve asked each teacher to contemplate as he or she lays plans for the upcoming school year: Read it!
Adventist Education — Editorial
July brings us to the halfway point in this “Year of Evangelism,” and I’ve been excited and encouraged to see the outpouring of energy and effort directed toward reaching the unreached. So far, the North American Division has made 28% more progress this year than last, and that’s great news!
In this month’s Record, you’ll learn about a special kind of evangelism that happens year-round in our Adventist classrooms. Each day, committed teachers invest their best in our most precious resource—our children. Read it!

The place where students learn from the greatest Teacher
Over a hundred years ago the Lord led His people to establish schools where His children could learn of Him and develop into efficient and effective leaders and laborers. Here we stand in the twenty-first century, straining to determine how a system, ordained by God, will continue to grow and flourish when many of our own parents and parishioners either no longer see the need for a church school system, question its effectiveness, or simply cannot afford it. We love Jesus—And we want to tell others!
Adventist school students share Jesus
Southwestern Union — At the beginning of 2009 Adventist members throughout North America were challenged to make this the Year of Evangelism. Here in the Southwestern Union, from the pulpit to the pew, many have eagerly responded to the challenge, and students in our schools are no exception. There are just too many stories to tell, but we’d like to share a few snippets of what K-12 students, with the help of their teachers and parents, are doing to tell others about Jesus. Read more...

Little Rock — Evangelism—by and for youth—is alive and well at the Little Rock church. Recently teens organized and conducted a Friends Forever evangelistic program aimed at ages 5-12. They were involved in the planning and advertising, led the singing, taught the memory verses, demonstrated and assisted with crafts, registered kids, and preached two evenings a week. Even nine-year-olds presented sermons with God’s help. Members, young and old, were forever changed by the series. Here’s what they had to say: Read more...

Little acts of service mean a lot
Dallas Christian Academy — Christian education isn’t confined to the school walls at Dallas Christian Academy. At local malls and at a nearby high school, DCA students are visibly touching the lives of others in their community.
