Hope Rising Brings Light in Darkness

Seven people chose baptism during the Central Louisiana church’s “Hope Rising” evangelistic series.

Maryland Pastor Benjamin Orian presented a 10-part “Hope Rising” series at the Central Louisiana Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pineville, La., April 24–May 2.

The series marked a special milestone for the Orian family. After 50 years of ministry, interim pastor Stephen Orian collaborated in the evangelistic effort with his son, Benjamin, who has served in ministry for 30 years. It was the first time the two had the opportunity to work together in this capacity.

The presentations explored 10 topics centered on the hope found in God’s Word. Subjects included Jesus as the focal point of Revelation, the three angels’ messages, the Sabbath, and the promise of eternal hope.

The meetings were well-attended each night. Through the work of the Holy Spirit and Benjamin Orian’s presentations, seven individuals accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and chose to honor the Bible Sabbath. Attendees eagerly returned each evening, and when an appeal for baptism was made, those same seven individuals responded.

During the Sabbath worship service on May 2, Jeff Smith; Eddie and Jennifer McFarland; Rick Merchant; Carlee Lake; and Louis West were baptized. Jessica Daniels  plans to be baptized at the Marthaville Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she will become a member

Several individuals continue to study the Bible. We praise God for the blessings received through the series and pray that more people will accept Jesus as a result of the seeds that were planted.
