The Record magazine receives submissions from members for obituaries, announcements, milestones and news articles. All submissions will be reviewed by the corresponding conference communication department before being considered for publication in the magazine. We invite you to submit your request below and email Record@swuc.org if you have any questions.
The printed edition of the Record magazine features obituary notices in the Back Pages section of the magazine. The Record offers two types of obituaries:
1. Free Obituaries includes only full name, date and place of birth, date and place of death, church membership, military service, Seventh-day Adventist Church employment service, individuals who preceded the deceased in death and survivors. Note: With few exceptions, the names of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and in-laws are not included as survivors.
2. Paid Obituaries include the information listed above (Free Obituaries) and can include additional text for a longer notice at the rate below and/or a photograph.

Announcements that are of general interest, promote free events and encompass the whole Southwestern Union territory can be submitted for consideration in the print edition of the Record, as well as milestones announcements. These include academy alumni weekends, church and school anniversaries, marriage milestones and birth, birthday and wedding announcements.
News articles from churches, schools and ministries may be submitted to the Record magazine for publication consideration. Articles submitted through this form will be forwarded to the corresponding conference communication department for their consideration and approval. News articles should highlight ministry and outreach activities, be of general interest to a broad audience and contain complete information (first and last names of individuals, full names of organizations, etc.). We recommend articles be 200-500 words and include 2-5 great photos.
