Celebrating 101 Years!

April 10, 2024

BATON ROUGE, LA. – During a fellowship meal on the first Sabbath of February 2024, Baton Rouge Seventh-day Adventist Church members celebrated the 101st birthday of member Lessie Lee Fletcher Rice, affectionately known as Ms. Lessie.

Ms. Lessie was born on Feb. 10, 1923, in Baton Rouge, La. Lessie’s mother became an Adventist after attending evangelistic meetings under the direction of Ira C. Pound in 1928 when Lessie was five years old. Over the years, Lessie married, had two children, worked for many years and retired from Louisiana state government, all the while remaining true to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ms. Lessie attends church and prayer meetings faithfully each week and is dearly loved by her daughter, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her church family.

Happy 101st birthday, Ms. Lessie!
