New Director Named for International Camporee

The Center for Youth Evangelism (CYE) has appointed Pedro Perez as International Pathfinder Camporee director, succeeding Ron Whitehead, who served as both CYE executive director and International Pathfinder Camporee director for 29 years.

Perez joins the CYE after serving as Pathfinder and Adventurer director for the Florida Conference, where he has been since 2017. His ministry experience also includes serving as Youth Ministries director for the Florida Conference from 2010 to 2017 and as youth director for the Southern New England Conference.

“We are excited to have Pastor Pedro Perez as our new NAD International Camporee director!” says Tracy Wood, North American Division (NAD) Youth and Young Adult Ministries director. “We look forward to collaborating with him and the CYE team in serving our vast network of club ministries leaders throughout the North American Division.”

With Perez’s wealth of experience in club ministries and many years of involvement with the International Camporee, NAD leadership anticipates that Perez will help make the 2029 Stand Strong International Camporee a phenomenal event.

“The international camporee is a monumental experience in the spiritual journey of a Pathfinder,” says Wendy Eberhardt, NAD vice president, “and I am confident he will continue to move the camporee forward as a life-changing space where Pathfinders grow their faith and build discipleship connections that will last an eternity.”
