Texas Health Huguley Earns National Safety Recognition

Texas Health Huguley Hospital is being recognized for its commitment to patient safety after receiving an “A” Hospital Safety Grade, the highest designation awarded by The Leapfrog Group.
Leapfrog evaluates hospitals using more than 30 evidence-based measures tied to patient safety. These measures examine areas such as medical errors, accidents, injuries and infections, along with the systems and processes hospitals use to prevent patient harm and keep patients safer throughout their care journey.
“This ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is the result of our teams across various departments and physicians working as one, focused on what matters most—our patients,” says Penny Johnson, president and CEO of Texas Health Huguley Hospital. “Across every department, we are guided by our mission of ‘Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ,’ creating an environment where safety, compassion, and excellence come together in every moment of care.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only national hospital ratings program focused exclusively on patient safety. The grading system uses a public, peer-reviewed methodology, is fully transparent and is available for free to the public. Grades are updated twice each year, in the spring and fall.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” says Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Texas Health Huguley, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
