ALVARADO, TEX. – After nearly 20 years as an employee of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Colleen Worth retired Jan. 31. Worth joined the Texas Conference in 2003, initially working as a teacher’s aide and, in 2011, transitioning to office secretary at Keene Adventist Elementary School. She joined the Texas Conference human resources (HR) department in February 2018 as an administrative assistant and was promoted to HR generalist in January 2022.

Worth is known for the warmth and knowledge she demonstrated while handling questions from the office and the field. Many commented on her patience and willingness to search for answers. The office staff also appreciate her artwork, which is displayed in several offices throughout the conference building.

“Keene Elementary truly felt the loss when Colleen transitioned to the Texas Conference office,” shared Elton DeMoraes, Texas Conference president. “Colleen became an invaluable member of the HR team, providing essential support to our office staff and employees. Her contributions have been greatly appreciated, and we wish her a joyful and fulfilling retirement.”
